AmeriCorps Member



AmeriCorps members serve in the Urban League of Rochester’s Education programs as mentors and role models, and assist with our after-school programs.  As an AmeriCorps member you will help students stay on track or get back on track in order to graduate from high school, by helping them improve their grades, attendance, and behavior.  You will provide   one-on-one or small group mentoring, monitor attendance, support positive behavior, and assist with program activities that improve the educational outcomes for economically disadvantaged students.




           Living allowance of $12,350 annually

           $5,730 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award  (Members must serve 1700 hours to be eligible for the  

             Segal Award)

Applicants must:

           Be between the ages of 18 and 24

           Be a U.S. citizen, National, or permanent resident alien

           Reside in the City of Rochester

           Agree to and pass a criminal background check
