Asset Developer


To assist individuals by making homeownership and financial planning accessible for low to moderate-income families.




  1. Conduct outreach and recruitment efforts, including attending program and community presentations and events.
  2. Schedule and conduct client intake appointments and develop positive relationships with clients.
  3. Facilitate client credit and budget review, develop individual financial plan of action, based on client’s financial goals.
  4. Follow up with clients and hold them accountable to meeting their financial goals.
  5. Refer clients to Program Manager for additional services. Identify and refer participants to other resources and services in the community needed to achieve goals when necessary.
  6. In conjunction with funders’ requirements, supervisor and program consultants, assist Program Manager in planning and facilitating all workshops and training sessions.
  7. Establish partnerships with financial institutions and other financial capability service agencies. Follow up with all stakeholders on referrals to other financial service professionals
  8. Complete and maintain program files and records to help generate accurate internal and external reports and statistic, including bi-weekly reports for program funder to track and assure successful program outcomes.
  9. Maintain and submit required documentation to Program Manager in a timely manner to ensure deadlines are met and to ensure effective program operation.
  10. Positively represent the program and the agency in the community.
  11. Participate in additional training as required for effective program operation when approved by supervisor.
  12. Perform such duties as the supervisor may assign.




  • Bachelor’s degree with background in housing and/or finance or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.
  • Demonstrated personal financial management skills and experience.
  • Knowledge of available community resources.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be customer service oriented and team-oriented.
  • Ability to relate to, communicate with, and work with a diverse population and understand the issues relating to such populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to tolerate and handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner.
  • Competency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
  • Able to work evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
  • Housing counseling certification is a plus.
