Urban League of Rochester Economic Development Corporation (ULREDC)


The ULREDC was formed in 1986 and is a wholly owned subsidiary corporation of the Urban League of Rochester, NY, Inc..

The ULREDC's mission is to improve the living and working conditions of poor, disadvantaged and underserved populations in the Rochester region through economic development and community revitalization initiatives, and to build an asset base for the Urban League of Rochester.

  • ULREDC currently owns and manages 250 apartments in the following developments:
  • Three developments in which low income persons with developmental disabilities live independently: Blossom Village Apartments, a 24-unit development in Brighton; Kenwood Homes, a 6-unit building in Rochester; and the Thurston Road Apartments, 6 units in Rochester.
  • Carlson Place, an 8-unit building in Rochester's Corn Hill neighborhood where the ARC of Monroe operates a supervised apartment program for persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Brooks Village, a 16-unit apartment building located on Genesee Street in the City of Rochester,  Akeley Manor, a 20-unit town home development located in the Town of Clarendon, which both offer safe, decent affordable rental housing for families.
  • Four developments for low income seniors aged 62 and older:  Butterfly Fields Apartments, 10 units located in Brighton; Goose Landing Apartments I and II, 40 units located in Henrietta; and Akeley Landing, 10 units located in the Town of Clarendon
  • Our most recent developments located in the High Falls Area of downtown Rochester: mixed use, mixed income Mills at High Falls, 67 one and two-bedroom apartments, the Annex at High Falls, 21 apartments in 5 historic buildings and Mills III, 19 apartments located in a former warehouse building
  • Lastly the Michelson Building, an adaptive reuse of a former warehouse building into 40 one and two bedroom apartments.
