Black Scholars Program Update!

Good Afternoon,

I hope you’re doing well this summer.  I want to inform you about two upcoming college preparedness events in October 2017.  Events flyers are attached to this email.

The Black Scholars College Readiness Workshop will be held at MCC’s New Downtown Facility (321 State Street, Rochester, NY 14608) on Saturday, October, 21, 2017, starting promptly at 9 AM (Registration is at 8:30am).  This program will include presentations on: Admissions, College & Career Exploration, Financial Aid Overview, and Parent Workshop. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.  This year, we will be partnering with the Rochester HBCU, the Rochester City School District, and Rochester Black Young Professionals (ROCBYP).  Both Students and Parents Must Register For Free Tickets Online. The Rochester Historically Black Colleges & Universities (Rochester HBCU) will be hosting a college fair on Monday, October 23, 2017, from 8:30 am-2:00 pm.

This event will be held at the Riverside Convention Center (123 Main St, Rochester NY 14604).  Students are encouraged to bring their academic transcript and references to the event.  Come and participate in on-site enrollment, attend college preparation workshops, and get advice on how to pay for college.  To register for the event, go to this website:  https://www.rcsdk12.org/hbcufair
