An essay is also required on one of the following topics: 1) Your educational goals and the unique contribution you envision making to others; 2) Your goal and vision for helping others; 3) Trail blazing on behalf of African Americans; or 4) How your African American role model has inspired you to help others.

Jack & Jill of America, Inc. Scholarship Amount and number awarded varies each year Based on academic standing, demonstrated financial need, character, personal achievement, leadership ability and initiative. Monroe Community College/Urban League of Rochester Scholarship Up to 3 scholarships per year at $500 per semester, renewable for up to 2 years for a total of $2,000. Urban League Black Scholar demonstrating academic excellence. Must be accepted by the MCC Admissions Office. Refer to college catalog for all admissions deadlines

Complete application to Monroe Community College and file a FAFSA.

Monroe Professional Engineers Society Several awards will be made, sponsored by various individuals and colleges For students with a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale, with SAT Math 600, Verbal 500 or ACT Math 25, English 25. Rochester Area Community Foundation,
Minority Science Scholarship
Amount varies, $250 minimum, renewable Created to provide "last dollar" scholarship grants to students who graduate from any one of nine Rochester City School District high schools, plan to attend a 2- or 4-year college, and plan to major in the sciences, particularly environmental science. Must be honored as an Urban League Black Scholar and be accepted to St. John Fisher College. Must attend as a full-time student.
