Black Scholars

For over four decades, the Urban League of Rochester Black Scholars™ program has provided academic recognition, college readiness assistance, and scholarship incentives to students who achieve and maintain a ‘B’ average or better (83% and up) throughout high school.

Black Scholars provides honorees with helpful college/career readiness programming and scholarship opportunities in their senior year through our scholarship networks. We continue this support as our Black Scholars move up from high school and on to being leaders in their communities and workplaces.

2023 BLACK SCHOLARS CEREMONY

We were thrilled to recognize 536 Black Scholars at the 44th annual Black Scholars Celebration on June 5, 2023 at RIT’s Gordon Field House.
