Urban League announces $15 / hr. minimum wage for all employees

This week the Urban League of Rochester announced a new minimum wage of $15 an hour for all positions across the organization, effective immediately. The statewide minimum wage outside of New York City is presently $12.50.

“We are proud to be able to offer all of our employees a $15 minimum wage,” said Dr. Seanelle Hawkins, President and CEO of the Urban League of Rochester, “This is a permanent step in the direction of equity in supporting our staff and supporting the economy of our community.”

The Urban League’s minimum wage change comes as the Biden administration fights to establish a higher minimum wage at the federal level.
