Scholarships

Thank you for your interest in scholarships organized through the Urban League of Rochester. Below is a list of scholarships we have offered over the years through a robust network of Scholarship Partners.

Our Scholarship Partners are a collaborative group that is assisting in furthering our youth's educational needs. This is done by increasing the availability of financial assistance and broadening the range of criteria or eligibility requirements for scholarships.  They have been pivotal in helping the Urban League of Rochester improve our application process and communication strategy.  We look forward to growing this group as we continue to support our youth!

If you are interested in becoming a Scholarship Partner or have general application questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to ourblackscholars@ulr.org.

    Description

For the entire time I have been on this earth at every stage people have encouraged, believed, prayed, listened, and were there for me. From mentors, friends, janitors, and lab mates I have continually been poured into. In Greek, my name means "life" and the scholarship is an embodiment of my scientific journey and the people that continuously poured into me that helped get me to this point today. I know I would not have been able to become the first African American woman to graduate from the pharmaceutical science program at The University of Pittsburgh without each and everyone one of the people who have supported me on my journey. With all that I have been given I want to be able to pour into young people that look like me. So they can know, how just like me someone is out there believing that they can achieve any dream!
